Warriors: Firestar’s Quest
Book Report
The Warriors series are exiting and unique books. They would be favored by cat and animal lovers. The stories are about wild cats from their point of view. There are four clans; RiverClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, and the main one, ThunderClan. Each clan has a leader, a deputy, warriors, and apprentices.
In this adventure, the ThunderClan leader, Firestar, is sent on a quest to reform the lost SkyClan. The Clan had lost their territory when Twolegs, or humans, took over. There was no territory to spare so the other clans drove them out. Now Firestar is sent by SkyClan’s ancestors to find a place for them to live and seek out SkyClan descendants. Firestar’s faith and strength will be tested to find SkyClan’s decendants, whether they are rogues or kittypets, who live with Twolegs.
This book is suspenseful and imaginative. I enjoy these series because there is always a new and exiting adventure within its pages.

EGGSPERT
Eggspert is a game. In Eggspert you have a bunch of buzzers that are shaped like eggs. The teacher will ask a question, the first person to buzz in gets to answer the question. If that person gets the question wrong another person can have a chance to get it right. We played a spelling game. We needed to think of a word that begins with the last letter of the word said before. For example, if the word was jog the next player would buzz in and say give. It is hard to buzz in because Shawn is really fast. I think Eggspert is really fun. That is all I know about it.

Interview with Garrett
Garrett read the The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. It is about a twelve or thirteen year old boy. His dad died in a museum fire. Hugo found a mechanical man in the burned museum. For months, Hugo repaired the mechanical man. The mechanical man works behind a desk to write, but Hugo doesn’t know what he is going to write. The mechanical man went to write something; the reader might be surprised to know the mechanical man didn’t write words, it drew a picture of a moon and a rocket. This is a very good book. Garrett’s favorite part is when the boy was stealing toys from the toy shop. He thoroughly encourages people who like clock works to read this book.

Our Field Trip
On the second day of school we all went to the Gordon pool. We played at the pool because Mrs. Benben, our new P.E. teacher, organized it. She’s a lifeguard at the pool. We got to swim on our own. The kids in Mrs. Moreland’s class got to go in the little kids’ pool too. The Gordon pool sells snacks because swimming makes you tired. The snacks give you more energy. On the good side, none of us drown! On the bad side, it was cold outside. Luckily, the water was warm because of the heater. We all had fun!

Shawn’s Book Report
I recently read If You Give A Moose A Muffin. It is about a moose who likes to eat muffins and jam. The story was funny when the moose smelled the muffins and walked right into the house. He made puppets out of old socks, just like mine. I recommend it to people who like to make a mess because it’s about messes. I learned a lesson while reading this book: do not use white sheets to clean up messes! It is hard to get the stain out. I also learned not to feed a moose a muffin, so it won’t bother you all the time.

Mrs. Naslund
Mrs. Naslund is my teacher. She is very nice and can be very fun sometimes. She likes pigs; that’s why we have so many Toot and Puddle books. Her favorite color is green. She has red hair and is tall. She is also very good at language, that’s why she teaches it a lot. When the 4th and 5th grades go to Mr. Krasomil for science, the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders come to Mrs. Naslund’s classroom for language. She made our room look a lot bigger than last year because she put a lot of things against the wall. She bought 6 more new pillows for the classroom. She also bought some toys and books for our store. We get fake money for keeping things organized, being good, and getting work done. At the end of each month we get to buy things at our store. The reason she does this is to help us use money in a real situation.

Think-ama-Jink Checkers
Have you ever heard of Think-ama-Jink Checkers? It is a game. You need to be age 6 and up to play (grades 1-5). It is like checkers, but it has yellow and purple checkers. There are blue, purple, green and red stars on the board. The biggest difference is that you have to answer a question right to move a checker. There are 4 subjects to choose from: social studies, language, math, and science. If you don’t know a lot of things about very many subjects it will help you learn. This game can make you think better!

New Kindergarteners
There are 4 new kindergarteners this year. There names are Josie Shadbolt, Jacob Waltman, Emily Wollens, and Caleb Wollens. Josie’s favorite color is purple. Jacob likes black. Emily couldn’t make up her mind between pink and purple. Caleb’s favorite is blue. Emily and Josie’s favorite thing to do in school is playing with babies. Jacob’s is dancing. Caleb is always playing with puppets. Those are the new kindergarteners this year.

My Teacher
My teacher is Mr. Krasomil. He teaches at Merriman School. He is an awesome teacher. He is a really nice teacher. He has been teaching for 11 years. Math is his favorite class. Language is his least favorite class. Andrew Fairhead, Jason Fairhead, Tim Pascoe, Sam Roth, and Jim Whittemore were the names of his first class. He lives in Gordon, NE, two blocks from the elementary school. His house is yellow with a little deck. He also has a really little yellow shop. He has a big yard in the back. He drives a blue Chrysler. He used to have a dog.
