GRPS was the host site for the 2025 Western Nebraska School Mental Health Conference held yesterday. The keynote speaker was Jay Martin, School Safety and Security Director with the Nebraska Department of Education, with the presentation, "Look Up to Gain Digital Platform Health, Safety, and Wisdom." Breakout sessions regarding a variety of topics related to mental health and school systems were also provided throughout the day. GRPS staff members attended as well as registrants from around the area.
Thank you to ESU 13 and all area organizations who helped put on and sponsor the conference. GRPS students were also invited for a student panel and offered great insights to the attendees.
Jay Martin was also able to provide two parent presentations in the evening regarding digital health, safety, and wisdom.

We appreciate everyone's understanding regarding the water line break at the middle school this morning. Repairs are scheduled for tomorrow morning. At this time, we are planning on having a 10:00 AM late start tomorrow, September 18, at the middle school only to allow time for the completion of the repair. There will be no breakfast served for middle school students. Buses for the middle school will leave Gordon at 9:30 AM. All other district buildings will have a regular start time. Students attending Rushville Elementary will have a regular start time; however, breakfast will be served in their classrooms and not in the middle school cafeteria. Please stay tuned to our social media pages for any potential updates. Thank you.

RES PARENTS: Due to a water line break at the middle school that necessitated shutting water off to the entire building, we are having a noon dismissal at RES today. With the kitchen closed at the middle school, we are unable to serve lunch, so RES students will NOT receive school lunch today. We are asking parents to please call the school and confirm that the student may be dismissed to go home and/or confirm that a parent or trusted adult will pick up their student at noon. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your cooperation.
