Next week is Homecoming week. There will be a district-wide noon dismissal for students on Friday, September 15. The Homecoming Parade will start at 1:00 PM that afternoon with the Pep Rally to follow. We hope to see everyone there!
🚨JV FOOTBALL UPDATE🚨
A jamboree game has been added with Chadron and Valentine on 📆 Sept. 5, 23. The game will be played at📍GRHS.
Format of the game to follow:
Game Order
5:30 PM - Valentine vs Chadron - First Half
GRHS vs Chadron - Second Half
Chadron would always be the away team. Valentine and Gordon would wear home Jerseys. 12 minute quarters w/ 12 minute halftime.
Due to low JV numbers for GRHS and Valentine, each school agreed to this format to give their JV boys the opportunity to play. Schedule update, the September 11th JV game vs Chadron will be canceled.

The GRPS Summer Food Service Program will start on Monday June 5. Free breakfast and lunch is available to students Monday through Friday June 5 through June 30. Meals are served at Gordon Elementary School in Gordon and Gordon-Rushville Middle School in Rushville.
Wednesday, May 24, is the last day of school at GRPS. It will be a noon dismissal for students in all district buildings.
RES 5th graders are studying embryology with Marie Nelson, 4H educator, and are so excited to have two chicks hatch on time!
Crimsun Hotz, Miss Badlands Teen came to visit the K-2nd grade classrooms this past week to talk about the importance of loving ourselves for who we are! She read each class a few books & talked about kindness! Thank you Crimsun for visiting us!
A Celebration of Life for Brayton Hathorn will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 27, at Gordon-Rushville High School. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, April 26th from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home. The number of staff who will be attending the service on Thursday is greater than the number of substitute teachers available to cover all necessary classes in the district. Therefore, school will be dismissed at noon in all district buildings on Thursday, April 27. Buses will run as with a regularly scheduled noon dismissal. In order to provide a place for students to go in the afternoon if needed, the Gordon-Rushville Middle School building will be open and available and staff will be present in Rushville from 12:30-3:00 pm for any K-12 student who resides in or around Rushville. Likewise, the Gordon Elementary building will be open and available and staff will be present for any K-12 students who reside in or around Gordon and need a place to go that afternoon as well. Student attendance in the afternoon is not mandatory. If any students would like to go to the school building in the afternoon, we ask that they please check in at the building office upon arrival. Staff will be available to assist with homework, etc. and counselors will be available for students if needed. Thank you for your understanding.

RES 3rd Graders Natalia Dolezal and Capri Rodriguez received Honorable Mention Awards in the 2023 Nebraska Severe Weather Awareness Poster Contest put on by the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service. This was a poster contest for all 3rd grade students in Nebraska. Congratulations Girls!
