A Celebration of Life for Brayton Hathorn will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 27, at Gordon-Rushville High School. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, April 26th from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home. The number of staff who will be attending the service on Thursday is greater than the number of substitute teachers available to cover all necessary classes in the district. Therefore, school will be dismissed at noon in all district buildings on Thursday, April 27. Buses will run as with a regularly scheduled noon dismissal. In order to provide a place for students to go in the afternoon if needed, the Gordon-Rushville Middle School building will be open and available and staff will be present in Rushville from 12:30-3:00 pm for any K-12 student who resides in or around Rushville. Likewise, the Gordon Elementary building will be open and available and staff will be present for any K-12 students who reside in or around Gordon and need a place to go that afternoon as well. Student attendance in the afternoon is not mandatory. If any students would like to go to the school building in the afternoon, we ask that they please check in at the building office upon arrival. Staff will be available to assist with homework, etc. and counselors will be available for students if needed. Thank you for your understanding. Gordon-Rushville Public Schools
